The customary greeting extended towards
fellow Christians through the Easter Season is:
"Christ is risen! Alleluia!"
The ancient reply is:
"He is risen indeed, Alleluia!"

WELCOME TO ST JOSEPH'S TABLE

St Joseph’s Table is the website for St Joseph's Anglican Church in New Braunfels, Texas, a parish of the Anglican Province of America. Fr Gregory Lee Wilcox is the editor and solely responsible for its contents.

For information on St Joseph's, please see our "Contact" page or just browse around a bit. The site is updated every Friday or Saturday, so please come back now and then and poke around the different pages. We hope you'll be either intrigued or scandalized enough to return, and maybe even come to New Braunfels to join us for Mass.

St Joseph's Table derives its name from a grand medieval custom (originating in Italy, it eventually spread to many parts of Europe—and is widely observed in New Orleans today) celebrated on the feast of St Joseph (March 19). In preparation for the feast, people prepare a table (or tables!) filled to overflowing with all sorts of delicious foods and desserts. After Mass on St Joseph's Day, everyone travels from home to home, praying and eating and talking. This weekly blog takes its inspiration from that venerable celebration.
